LESSONS IN LAYERING
It’s the time of year when we gravitate towards the cosiest pieces in our wardrobes, and layering is key when it comes to the cold weather. But how do you curate outfits which are warm yet effortless and feel put together? We will be sharing five classic layering techniques that can seamlessly take you from day to night, alfresco to inside.
1.) Materials matter - there are so many fabrications which can help to keep you warm this Winter, thermal leggings or faux leather are great items to have in your wardrobe
2.) Basics don’t have to be boring - essential items are key when layering, take a roll neck or wool blend long sleeve top, items that are hard working but help to keep your outfit minimal and more importantly you warm.
3.) The shoulder trick - lazy dressing is having a moment right now, and nothing's lazier than throwing your favourite knit around your neck for an extra layer.
4.) Add a Balaclava - they are back once again this year, and we can't help but love them for the cosy-factor as well as how cool they look when worn
5.) Re-wear your wardrobe - something we try to focus on at Fifth Season Styling is re-styling pieces you already own. Take your midi dresses and pair with a knitted jumper and knee-high boots this Winter.
